Do blondes have more funds?
Rod Stewart fans know that blondes have more fun, but what about cold, hard cash? A study in the current Economics Letters, entitled Fund-raising success and a solicitor's beauty capital: Do blondes raise more funds?, suggests that fair-haired folks have money sewn up as well
In a fund-raising experiment, investigators sent 44 women, blondes and brunettes, door-to-door in Pitt County, North Carolina, asking for donations to the Center for Natural Hazards Mitigation Research at East Carolina University.  A 2006 study of the data found that more attractive women garnered contributions that were 50% and 135% larger than the average donation to the fund. The latest analysis found that blondes, beautiful or not so much, raised 71.6% to 76.0% larger donations on average.
"Interestingly, the returns to beauty for blonde females are driven entirely by Caucasian households," the researchers found.
