Some Thoughts
We were very saddened to learn that the Frederick
Fathers Day Hamfess was cancelled. It is a very
tough decision for those few of us who set up and
run a hamfest. Tables cost money to rent; vendors
do not want to pay money for tables. In today's
economic climate, some truly do not have any money.
But a viable, profitable hamfest is a must for many ham
radio clubs. It is their major source of income
if not the only source. But today, profit is limited to
the gate and tailgating. Our condolences to our friends
at Frederick. They always ran a class event. But now it is
up to each of us to patronize the remaining hamfests, so they
too don't go away.
