Some ThoughtsThis month we have a lot of FCC news. Not earth-shattering in itself, but significant in that the FCC issued a request for comments based on an ARRL request for rulemaking in the spread spectrum arena. There are other items of interest to us: The vanity callsign fee may drop later this year; K1MAN is issued an NoF of $21,000, based on a prior NAL. It certainly took long enough. We are happy to see the matter being brought to a conclusion; Finally, amateur radio will remain within the WTB -- again, not earth-shattering news, but another indication that the FCC is paying attention to amateurs and amateur radio.
