NCVEC Question Pool Committee wants to hear from you!
The National Conference of Volunteer Examiner Coordinators (NCVEC) Question Pool Committee (QPC)
is requesting input from the Amateur Radio community as it looks toward developing a new General class
(Element 3) examination question pool. It's anticipated that the revised Element 3 question pool will be
released on or about December 1, 2006. It will become effective for all examinations given on or after
July 1, 2007. "All interested parties are invited to participate in this process," says QPC Chair Jim Wiley,
KL7CC. "The QPC is interested in your suggestions for this new pool, including new questions or existing
material that should be deleted or edited." Submit questions directly to the QPC via the NCVEC Web site.
Groups of questions may be submitted via e-mail as MS-Word documents or plain-text file e-mail
attachments. To get a feel for the formatting requirements, see the individual question submission page
or look at one of the existing question pools. "The QPC does not guarantee that all questions submitted
will be used," Wiley says, "and the committee reserves the right to edit material as necessary, including
the right to combine material from more than one source when creating new questions." All current Amateur
Radio examination question pools are available on the ARRL Web site.
