Some ThoughtsAre hamfests going down the tubes? Probably. Several years ago, computers and computer peripherals saved hamfests for a few years. Now, the Mom and Pop basement computer operations are history- thanks to stores like Best Buys. And ham radio dealers won't travel like they used to (not enough profit). All that's left appears to be tailgating. So what can we, as individual hams do? We can attend and urge our friends to attend as many hamfests as we can. Coming up, Maryland FM (May 29), Manassas (June 5) and Frederick (June 19); of course, BRATS (July 24). Go! Tell your friends to go. As for BRATS, contact Terry, WA3DZZ on the repeater and volunteer to sell tickets or otherwise help out for an hour or two. We could use your Help. And I am sure the other clubs could, too. Thanks and 73, Mayer, W3GXK
